| NV Raw Medallion-Warning Fro everyone feeding NV Raw Medallions, please be careful and check thoroughly that there are no large bone fragments. I bought a bag of the Lamb medallions, Kia vomited immediately after eating. (This is not normal for Kia, she has never vomited eating NV raw medallions.) Three hours later, as I was applying PetzLife gel to her teeth, I discovered a cut, bleeding in her mouth. I took another medallion out of the freezer, and while frozen, diced it into tiny pieces, and discovered two, good size bone fragments. This is not normal for NV raw medallions. I have e-mailed NV and am awaiting their response. In the meantime, all I can tell you is my bag of Lamb medallions is dated 12/10/08, and the UPS scan code is: 7 69949 60330 Sheila |

Thank you so much. I put Kia on very soft, canned food, and she seems to be ok. I am thankful she doesn't appear to have any intestinal problems at this point, from the bone fragments. I will definitely let everyone know what NV says about the bone fragments. I have saved them to show my Vet, if necessary. I hope no one else's baby will have a problem. Sheila

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Sheila - I posted on the other thread too - and see you read it . NV, btw, is notorious for not getting back to customers via email. I have their phone number - so, if you don't hear back and want the number, let me know.

| I've seen pea-sized bone fragments in the medallions before but I don't believe they are dangerous. Dogs that eat prey-model raw chew and swallow fragments of bones with no issues. Lacy hs been eating the medallions for two years and has never had issues with the bone fragments either.

Thanks, Ann. I figured since it was the weekend I'd give them 'til Monday. In my e-mail I advised them that I had saved the bone fragments to take to my Vet. My hubby (bless his heart) even examined Kia's poop from yesterday and removed a rather large bone fragment. Kia had mucousy stool this morning, thankfully no blood. (She gave me a good scare when she was frantic to go out at a time she doesn't normally go out.) So far, she seems fine, Thank God. My husband took the bag of food back to Pet Supplies Plus this morning and showed them the bone fragments, so I believe they will be contacting NV, too. Our girls are very well known and very loved by the managers and employees of this store. We wanted them to be aware of the problem so they'd pull the remaining bags from their customer accessible freezer. Sheila

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | VERY smart to save those fragments - hopefully, NV will request a pic or something that you could email (I'd even be interested in seeing it, if you feel like posting it). Most importantly though, I'm so glad little Kia is okay - poor little punkin'. Could always give her a bit of yogurt, just to help ease any digestive inflammation. Please keep us posted and give Kia some licks from Marcel and Wy.

Yes, I thought it might be wise to save those fragments in case NV wanted to examine them, or if Kia developed any serious issue I could show them to my Vet, so he would know what he was dealing with. Kia is feeling better, eating well. She says she would gladly accept and return some kisses from Marcel & Wy. Sheila

| Any word from NV? I would think something like this would be answered rather quickly. I would also like to see pictures if you have any available.
