| I have to admit this is kind of amusing. I was reading this and was like oh my goodness I just realized our dog has some of the same food allergies as my family. I know she does not handle wheat or corn very well. My girls and I are intolerant to Dairy, wheat, CORN, and soy. With that being said you might want to research what other names your allergens have. Like for corn which have a fairly bad reaction to (not anaphylactic) dextrose, actually any thing that ends in trose. Also, maltodextrin is a form of corn and there are many others. There are also other grains that effect a person or dog if they are allergic to wheat. I cannot do rye because it is a grass grain. We have had no problems with oats and I know for other animals it can help make the coat shiny. I have to live this type of diet for 10 yrs. so you get to know things. It is like second nature to read labels now. I hope this helps and sorry it is so long. ![]()

| Yorkie Talker | When you mentioned allergies, what symptoms do they have? I've never heard of those brands, I'm from Florida and I always buy, Royal Canine, they have one specific for Yorkies. Is there something I should look for on the list of ingredients?

| MY INSTINCT SAYS #2 BECAUSE THERE ARE FAR LESS INGREDIENTS AND IF ALLERGIES ARE THE CONCERN YOU SHOULD KEEP IT SIMPLE. DO ALOT OF YORKIES HAVE ALLERGIES? HOW GOOD IS OLD FAITHFUL, SCIENCE DIET OR ROYAL CANINE? I TRIED RC WHEN I GOT GIGI A MONTH AGO AND SHE HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE ABRUPT SWITCH SO I HAVE HAD TO FEED WHAT THE BREEDER FED SD SO FAR. I WOULD LOVE MORE INFO ON THIS SUBJECT? ![]()

| I would try California Natural. It has rice but to be honest I just can't see him being allergic to rice. Rice is in just about every brand of dogfood that I can think of. California Natural has a Lamb and Rice.. Lamb Meal <Rice Sunflower Oil Natural Flavors Potassium Chloride Vitamins/Minerals Taurine Rosemary Extract [Very few ingredients for dogs with allergies. I swear they wway I feel now I wouldn't mine trying some myself LOL My allergies are in overdrive. Good Luck hope he feels better.

| I would go with number two. It is grain free, no oats. Oats are good for topical issues, but can cause some allergies if eaten. I know what the second food is and highly recommend it. It is what we are transitioning to when get close to running out of the Timeberwolf Ocean Blue. The first one has oats listed twice and you can not really tell if it actually has anymore meat than the second one. Just my opinion of course!

I chose #1 because Duck was the first ingredient and it was higher protein. But I liked that #2 was grain-free (I think anyway). I personally wouldn't feed kibble period though. I'd go with a premium grain-free canned food like Nature's Variety Instinct duck. (Or I most believe in raw )

| Brand #1 is Pinnacle Duck & Potato and Brand #2 is Natural Balance Duck and Potato. I don't want to spend $20 to order TOTW on the internet and have to pay shipping at this point if I can get something just as good locally. I've been feeding Natural Balance Duck & Potato for the past couple of years and it's been fine, but not ideal, and the pet store has been out of it the past couple of times I went so I bought a bag of the Pinnacle and I'm going to try it. If they don't do well on Pinnacle, I'll go ahead and go wtih the TOTW.

| I Love My Lil' Punkin's Donating Member | I chose brand #1 since a Carb is the very FIRST ingredient in brand #2 - and that's a big no-no
