| Anyone feed Solid Gold Wee Bits? I have started feeding my puppy (a Morkie named Max age 1 weeks) Solid Gold Wee Bits. I have been mixing it in with the Mini Breed Puppy Eucanuba. The breeder was feeding Puppy Chow (eeeek!). I switched to Eucanuba before I found out it was not so good either. Anyone have any good or bad issues with this food (Solid Gold)? Max seems to like it. He would not eat Wellness Puppy and Canidae gave him the runs. Thanks in advance from Max and Me! |

| I fed it to my chi and it made his hair fall out. Around his face, paws, and legs it got inflamed and itchy. It was bleeding. His hair is just now growing back and he looks much healthier. He did enjoy eating it though. |

| I don't know what is in the food that bothered him. I have read that his symptoms sound similiar to a fish allergy. Solid Gold uses a lot of fish. |

| I gave it to Max once, but he's such a little piggy and they're SO SMALL.....I think he figured they were rabbit turds like he loves to eat out on the lawn, which, now that I've blocked off all entries to the bunnies, he doesn't get to enjoy anymore. I think he thought the candy store had re-opened, LOL. I have to give them to my friend, who's Yorkie is a more dainty eater!

| Hi Chrissy, Welcome to YT! Max is adorable! I've got a Morkie too, Chloe. I haven't tried the Solid Gold because Chloe loves the Wellness puppy. Just goes to show you that no two puppies necessarily like the same stuff. From what I hear, Solid Gold is quality stuff. If Max likes it, keep him on and watch for any weird changes. Hopefully he won't have negative reactions to it and you can continue to feed it to him. If he does have negative reactions, try taking a looking at the awesome super-premium-pet-foods sticky that is basically a list of quality foods along with the contact of their distributors so that you can request samples. There are so many out there and I'm sure you'll find something good that Max will love. Good luck! http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...e-samples.html

| Solid Gold is a pretty good food. For a long time it was probably one of the best foods out there, as it has been around longer than a lot of other foods. If you go to the dog food analysis site you can compare it to the other foods Dog Food Analysis - Reviews of kibble. And fish can be an excellent source for dogs. I have feed Solid Gold before, but am currently feeding Innova. My cat liked the solid gold for felines too about the analysis site - just remember this is just opinions - most yorkie owners stay away from 6 star foods -- too much protein & instead choose a 4 or 5 star food

| Thanks! I'll keep going with the Solid Gold. I might try the Wellness again if the SD seems to rich. Canidae sounds good too. I'll try to get some samples and see what he likes. He ate "around" the Innova Puppy. Picked it out of the bowl and put it on the floor one time and the next he left only the Innova in the bowl. Picky guy! We fed out Lab Innova. She loved it.
