ALL of my dogs are on NUTRO. I have yorkies, shih tzu's and a lab and thank God have not experienced any problems.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for posting that. I now wonder if it was the Nutro that killed my sharpei and keeshond in October and November of last year. They exhibited identical symptoms, vomiting, not eating, diaharrhea and eventual shut down of their kidneys. The time from onset to death was about 3-5 days with both of them. We had just bought a new bag of food, 40 lbs, Nutro Natural Choice Lamb & Rice. While all this time I had thought they had both died of unrelated kidney failure (I thought it was just bad luck they both died so close together) maybe not. As they are both cremated I can't have a necropsy done unfortunately. Still, after reading that article, I'm happy beyond words I didn't take any chances and switched SoCo to raw food.

Nutro has made a lot of dogs very sick and I would not trust it one bit.

I have been feeding Itsy Nutro Ultra puppy since a few days after I got her in March. She has been coughing and dry heaving off and on for the past week and a half. It was at its worst on Saturday, I read this post and started backing off the Nutro, and I would swear her coughing and hacking has reduced a lot. She is going to the vet for her 3rd puppy shot today so I'm going to have the vet check her out. I don't know if it's the food or she's sick but it was a strange "coincidence" anyway. Thanks for the post.

Does anybody know if this affects the Nutro Ultra line as well? That's not what we use but I'm just curious.. I've read great things about Nutro Ultra.

OMG!!! I use this food too. Our 3mo old has been eating Nutro Ultra for puppies for a little over a week and loves it. I posted this before reading the info, so I'm off to go read! Thanks so much for the heads-up!

ok, i just read the article... i just made my own post before i read about this in regards to Chewie. I don't know if its the way he eats but he scarfs his food and later ends up burping and acting like he's going to barf. He hasn't barfed yet but he just kinda dry heaves and then burps. He doesnt seem very affected by it. Once he's burped, he's off playing again. Anyone else experienced this with the Nutro food particularly?

I feed my dogs Nutro Natural. I've done so much research on dog food. It's scary when you think you're feeding your dog something healthy and it ends up being bad for them. I guess I'm back to the search again...

OMG! Bobby has been on Nutro natural lamb and rice since he was a baby! He has always had a sensitive stomach, and vomits a few times a month. I thought it was because he got ahold of something in the yard that was bad for him. because he would be fine after he vomited! But now i think it might be his food! I am going to switch ASAP!

Thank you for this I have been doing a lot of research on what kibble to feed my new little one, the pet store even recommended Nutro when I asked them. Now I am going to stay far far away and I'm going to let the pet store know too. Now it's back to the drawing board on kibble research.

If you do a search on YT you'll find lots of great suggestions as far as food go. I wouldn't suggest anything you can find at Petsmart or anything like that. My Petco carries a couple of premium foods but not many.
