| Totally Confused! I hope I don't upset anyone b/c I have searched & searched on here & looked at the dog food anyalysis site and the dog food project, dogaware etc. The breeder had reagan on pro plan (kibble & chicken, rice can) & I tried to change her to wellness for puppies (dry & canned) she would not eat either of it so I got scared & give her back the pro plan now I am trying to very slowly give her the wellness & she is eating it some.. my problem is (just since she started eating a little wellness) every now & then she spits up yellow or I'll find it on her bed & my poodle who is on the 5 version constantly throws up, I finally read on a site a bunch of people are complaining about this, well that explains it.... now after looking at so much online I think I'm very confused--to much protein?? not enough protein?? IJDK!!! I am thinking of trying the orijen or natures variety. Do you subst. some kibble w/the raw?? she is not quite 3 pounds so is a food w/too much protein a problem?? sorry this is so long, I really am just trying to figure out the best!! |

| There may just be something about the wellness that isn't working for her as an individual..it could be the brand in general or it could be a specific ingredient in the formula you are using. I would try another food if she's vomiting bile regularly. I'm not a fan of kibble at all. I feed Nature's Variety raw medallions exclusively and have been very happy with the results. Nature's Variety does have good kibbles and canned foods as well if you want to stick with that though.

| There are a few reasons to vomitting yellow. Sometimes, they are hungry. If mine doesn't eat some snack before bed, he'd throw up yellow bile in the morning so I make sure he eats a little before bed. Contrary to what others have told me that dogs will eat when they are hungry; mine doesn't. He'd rather throw up than eat when he doesn't like his food. I used to feed mine Orijen but after one pack, he doesn't want it no more and I am not too sure about all the high-low protein issue so now he is on Evangers canned food and homecooked and is doing well.I was feeding him Canidae wet food before but then I found Evangers and he loves it. Feed what you think is best and what your dog will eat. It doesn't help if the food is good and they end up not eating it.

| Ellie used to throw up every week or two on a certain kibble. It wasn't from being hungry and now I realize it is not normal. Now she only throws up when she is sick. If it keeps happening and you know they aren't hungry, I would switch foods immediately.
