| My Westie is on it... It has worked miracles for my westie Turbo. We had tried everything and did not want to go to the allergy shots. He was on predisone first and it helped, but we didn't want to leave him on steriods. Plus he was gaining major weight with it. I searched and asked my vet about Atopica and he was shocked that I knew about it and couldn't believe I was asking for it. Around here it is not widely used due to price, we are a small town. My vet said it usually took him a year to convince people to put their pets on Atopica. The steriods are just too hard on their bodies. He also said that along with Atopica, we needed to use a good fish oil, and a premium diet. We use Grizzly Salmon oil and feed Evo. It was determined that Turbo did not have food allergies but enviromental allergies and medication was the only thing that was going to help him. It takes a huge chunk out of our budget for his medicine, but I just couldn't keep him on the steriods and couldn't see him suffer. If you have any specific questons feel free to ask!! Good Luck!!

| THANK YOU SO MUSH FOR YOUR IMPUT, buttons also gain alot of weight on steriods, she went from 4 to 8, but is still very active, iam hoping this works, its only been two days and the vet wants to see her next friday, it is expensive, but she said after awhile on it she maybe able to cut it down to everysecond day and then more if its working... she was on evo but she got runny poop, so now iam waiting for the vet to bring in natural blend of salmon and rice, i also give her doctor maggie, its got 3 omaga fatty acids and is suppose to be good for her skin and coat.....she doesnt tangle on it.... |

| Atopica My little guy has been on Atopica for over a year now. He has environmental allergies, had tried everything and he found no relief, my vet finally put him on atopica and it has been a blessing. Good luck with your little one.

| atopica It takes anywhere from 3 days to a week to notice a difference from atopica. It took Charlie about 4 days and the change was incredible. You have to be careful not to give atopica within an hour of eating or else the pill will not stay down. It is kinda tricky but if you wait more like an hour and a half to 2 hours after eating, you may have better results. Best of luck with your babies. I pray they have relief soon. I don't know who suffers more them scratching or us watching them helplessly.

I have not seen Charlie more lethargic on the atopica. Each dog is different.

| It took us about 4-5 days to see a difference with Turbo. But it was a big difference. He still has his occasional itch, but he atleast now has hair on his head. He scratched so much that his eyes were always red and he little hair on his head, which really looks bad on a westie. Now his eyes are the black like they are supposed to be and he has a head full of hair. I will post pics so that you can see the differnence in him from before and after. My friend took the after pic when she pulled in the drive. We were out back playing. The first pic was taken in June and the after pic was taken a couple of weeks ago. It is a drastic change, before we started him on the meds, he squinted all the time and was just miserable. Now he is a typical westie. I will never get to take him off the meds, but I believe they saved his life. He is only a year old and I couldn't stand to see him suffer, the expense is well worth it.

| We tried pill wraps along with other disguises to no avail, Charlie would eat the goodie and spit out the pill. The only way I have found is to put it down the back of his throat and rub his throat till he swallows. was very difficult at first but we have both gotten use to it and now its routine.

| We had to do the same as the above poster! He wouldn't take it any other way. Now it is routine and he knows what to expect.
