| feeding my yorkie This might be strange but I dont want to get into a bad habit. My yorkie eats fine if food is on the ground( his eating placemat or outside on porch) but only playfully takes a bite from the food bowl. how do I get him to eat from the food bowl and not play?bigger bowl or..? |

| hmmmm.....welcome to YT by the way. You could try only feeding him from the bowl. He'll get it eventually if that's the only place there is food.

| I have heard of some Yorkies that will only eat off of plates...maybe try that? Maybe a bigger flatter bowl? Mine takes a piece of food and brings it to the rug...chews it up and leaves little crumbs then goes and gets another piece. I leave kibble out for her but she mainly gets a premade raw diet. I guess they just have their quirky ways. |

| I feed milo out of an amaze-a-ball, he has to move it to get the food out. If i put his food in a bowl he will take one piece out, go sit down, chew it then go back it takes forever. The bal sped up the eating a bit and also provides mental stimulation. |
