YT Addict | My Teddy is getting his teeth pulled! Hi all, It's been awhile since I posted on here. With law school applications and anxiously awaiting rejections / waitlists / acceptances, I haven't had much time for yorkie talk. I took Ted in for his follow up visit from what the vet thought was crystals in his urine, (there weren't any in there, thank goodness) she checked Ted's teeth and said he had two baby canines that hadn't fallen out and two other teeth that were rotated 90 degrees and had to come out. So, after putting down a deposit of 500, I made an appt for Teddy to get his teeth taken out. Hopefully all goes well, I cried when I left him, and he barked. I just had four wisdom teeth taken out so I know the kind of pain he might (or hopefully, might not) be feeling. I hope he is okay. But phew, I don't even want to take a guess as to what the full bill will be. On the low end, they said around $930 and on the high end around $1200. I'm going to be going in debt for law school starts! Anyways just pray for my babes to make it out okay. I don't know what I would do if something happened to my Ted.

| Just to remove four teeth that is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too much. Ellie goes to a pricey vet and for them to remove nine adult teeth and do xrays and a cleaning, it was only $600.

I know! My mom said that I should go some place cheaper, but I'm thinking around here, especially in the bay area of california, things are ridiculously expensive. For an ultrasound and xray for Teddy I spent around 160. For the vet visit, it was 55 dollars alone. When I lived in the suburbs, a visit was on 35. It is expensive. I just hope there are no complications, because if there are, the bill could get pushed up.

I paid $270 for Ellie's liver/abdominal ultrasound at a specialists and xrays are $80. $35 is cheap for a visit. That just sounds like way too much to me unless you REALLY like your vet.

YT Addict | You really think its too expensive? Since both you and my mom have said something about it, I will look around next time for a better vet. I just moved here 6 months ago, and its been hard living in the city. I miss my suburbs. Maybe I should bite the bullet and go ahead and take Teddy back to his original vets. They were much cheaper. I think I might do that. Thanks.

YT Addict | I brought Teddy in at 830am, it is now almost 3:30pm.. where is my dog? Why haven't they called me? They told me it might be anywhere from 3pm to 6pm until I might get him back. Does it normally take this long for teeth extractions?

| It should take less than an hour but quite often pick-ups are at 6pm. I wouldn't be too nervous until then (if you don't hear from them) because they are probably just watching him come out of anesthesia. If they said you could have him by 6, then I'd just show up then if they aren't calling. You could call and check on him if that would make you comfortable...I probably would be.

I live in the bay area too and I had 2 dogs teeth cleaned and 6 total teeth pulled for around 1290.00. This included meds for pain to take home. I do know they charged 280 for one back tooth! Thankfully most were front teeth. The pre blood work was another 250.00 for both dogs. This was for my two non-yorkies.

| Aw I hope poor teddy is going to be o.k and that he won't be in much, or any pain at all. I'll keep him in my prayers that all goes well for him!

YT Addict | Its been a day since ted has gotten his teeth pulled. He's been so sleepy and not doing much else. Is this normal? He wasn't like this with his nueter. I'm concerned.

YT Addict | I had to take Teddy in the emergency vet on Saturday because he was running a fever of 104.1. Luckily, they put him on some more antibiotics and he seems to be doing just fine now. But thank you, elliemay for all your concern it means a lot. And the price of the extractions was on 740.00. Which was much better than the 900 - 1100 they quoted me on. Just as an fyi.
