| Urine Test Kit My yorkie Frederick has had a few urinary tract infections, and the vet told me that his protein levels were high when he had them. I'm concerned that he may be getting another UTI but don't really want to pay $60 for the test again. I was wondering if anyone knew where I could buy the test strip that the vets use to check the different levels in the urine? Thanks! |

| Solid Gold have some that check pH only but I have some and I'm not convinced they work. I wouldn't waste my time with them again. Otherwise, Ladymom buys another kind for her dog, so hopefully she will see this.

| urinary tract infection What are the signs of an urinary tract infection? My male Yorkie has been licking himself there and he has a large pimple on the tip of his wiener...I noticed some tiny greenish discharge there also. Are there any home remedies for this? Or is this a Vet visit? Nikeann07 |

| My Yorkie was licking himself after he would urinate and would not be able to hold it for more than an hour or so. He never had any discharge, so it sounds like you might need to make a vet visit. |

Lady is a diabetic and prone to uti's so I check her at home. I swear by the generic strips I get on Amazon. They are so much cheaper than Bayer and exactly the same. Amazon.com: Multistix Generic Urine Test Strips... Leukocytes is what will indicate infection along with the presence of blood. | |

| I was just thinking, if a Yorkie has more than one or two UTIs, they really need to be bile acid tested for liver problems because that is a symptom and they shouldn't be happening that often.
