| Having some Yorkie Issues! Hi Everyone, I am new here so I will try to be brief. My yorkie bites and licks her paws. What causes this? I have fed her Solid Gold Hundnflocken Dry Food Lamb Formula Wellness for Allergies Dry Food. and now am feeding her Dick VanPattens Lower Calorie dry food, because she is 9 and 1/4 years old. I try to keep the protein count and fat count down. I feed her 1/4 cup in AM and 1/4 cup in PM If it were up to her she would eat all day long!!! Plus she gets treats during the day as I am unemployed at the moment. What Food and or treats are the best ones for her They must be made, grown and produced in America. Preferably Organic without allergic ingredients. Also they are saying alot of toys are made in China and it was shown on the news that a Nurse spend her own money to check the amount of lead in her dogs toys. Needless to say the counts were high. When is this country going to wake up and test items that come into our Country for safety for everyone; Humans, Pets, etc.? It is so scarey. Also she likes to chew I used to give her Rawhide Chips which she loved but stopped. Any suggestions that are safe would be appreciated. Thanks so much for your suggestions! |

| Kong toys are safe, made in the USA. Stick with those and you are doing well! As for the food recommendations, I used http://www.dogfoodanalysis.com to help me sort it all out. I almost bought chicken treats for my babies today, but put them back when I saw 'Made in China'. I made sure the store manager knew it was the reason I put it back.

| It could be allergies. Dick Van Patten has a allergy line and treats I would give that a try |

| Welcome to YT and don't worry about being brief. None of us are. Natural Balance has a few good foods for allergies. Have you tried the duck and potato? Wellness should also be good. I wouldn't give rawhide. The only thing my Yorkie chews on is raw veggies. She gets people food treats (and people food meals).

| My Pommie, Cassie, (may she R.I.P.) had an allergy to grass. She chewed on her feet. We tried to keep her off the grass as much as possible.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | http://www.pollen.com/home.asp ^^^ Check that out. Looks like Jersey is Med-Med High in terms of seasonal stuff right now - so it might not even be food related. Might be pollen. I am having the same issues w/ Marcel right now and am using homepathic stuff called Proaller and Notatum (both drops). They are helping.
