| come out baby teeth!!! I'm sorry if this topic has been posted a million time. I tried searching the topic but this message came up a bunch of time and I dont know what it means. "Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 20971520 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 524288 bytes) in /home/yorkietalk/domains/yorkietalk.com/public_html/forums/search.php on line 870" I tried a bunch of time and got it every time, even tried other similair keywords. Meeko is about 4.5 months old and hasnt lost a single baby tooth yet. We just went to the vet yesterday and he said they are all there. He also said that all the baby teeth should fall out by the time he turns 6 months or he'd have to get them surgerically removed. Soo I was wondering what I could do to help loosening them up. I went to a pet store today and the guy suggested a bully stick. I also bought 2 nylabones, one regular clear liver flavored one and one blue one made for teething. If you have any other suggestions I greatly appreciate them. I can only imagine how much that is going to cost me to have a whole mouth of teeth pulled. I got a quote yesterday for his nuertering and his back paw's non-articulating declaws removed and it was over $600. Soo yea, I'd like to save any other money I can rite now! We've had some big vet bills with 2 eye infections and a really bad respiratory infection. Oh when I got home from the petstore I decided I'd take his soft toys away for a week or 2 and only give him bully sticks and nylabones and hard tennis balls and see if it helps. I kinda feel mean taking away his favorite loofa dogs tho Thanks in advance for any suggestions!!!!! |

Donating YT 10K Club Member | Ahhh...let him have loofa dog. There is still time for his baby teeth to come out...perhaps not all but some. Ramsey's all came out....Reese had two pulled. My first yorkie, Trace....had one that didn't come out until he was past the 6 month age. None of mine would chew those hard plastic bones. I got looks like...are ya crazy??? LOL. They chewed plenty of bully sticks though. Did you get a break down on that quote? Reese's...with a complete blood panel beforehand...neutaring cost me about 225. I'm not sure how involved it is for removing dew claws....

Yes!!! That quote definitely took the wind outta me lol. I didnt think it would be that bad because his dewclaws aren't attached by a bone. The vet even said it'd be a simple easy procedure since they dont have break any bones. I got a rough quote for his nuetering like a month ago from the cashier and she said between $200-300. With the $600+ quote it included the overnight stay, Anesthesia, and pain meds. Soo I dont know if thats normally included in the quotes and thats why its so high? Another thing that kinda bothered me was that they keep him overnight. I completely 150% trust my vet. He is an amazing guy. Extremely educated and knows what hes doing. He actually practiced for 15 yrs and then decided to open up his own animal hospital. Its complete with the latest technology, he'd been on different talk shows with his work and has had articles and research published. I didnt just go to any vet. Anyway I was upset when I heard this, I can't imagine leaving my baby their overnight!!! The posts Ive read here, people said they picked their babies up the same day. Has anyone had to leave their babies overnight? | |

| Cost Is there a reason more people don't use a clinic? I have had great luck in our clinic here. For Max to get neutered and his last shot: $60.00..get 9 puppy teeth pulled? add $15.

Is there someone there monitoring him during the night? I ask because at mine...there is not. None of my animals had to stay overnight. Although I would've balked if it had been suggested since no one is even AT the office for 12 hours. I guess it is the vet's policy on staying or not. I know some who have. That would be an addition to your quote.

| Wow! $600 seems high IMO.... usually if they are already under, the teeth extraction is not much more. I think my vet said $10 per tooth. The big cost is putting them under. If the office is closed and no one is there, wouldn't it be better if he just came home with you? Also, Zoe still had a few teeth retained and my vet said they wait until 10 months, she eventually lost them all on her own so I never had to worry about that. I give my dogs bully sticks a couple times a week, don't know if that's what did it. Good luck! |

| give it time pepper just turned 20 weeks and started losing her teeth about 3 weeks ago, first all the front ones top and bottom, and a couple days ago I noticed she was losing a molar, now this morning she is just lost her bottom canine. I like the twisted ropes better than the bully sticks you can give them the rope unsupervised.

| Murfee is 4 and still has one of his baby canines. He was at the vet the other day and she didn't seem concerned. She said if we had to give him anesthesia sometime she would remove it. My last vet gave me an estimate of close to $900 to remove one canine tooth!!!!

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Roxie was 18 weeks when I got her, al her baby teeth still in. At 20 weeks her 2 front teeth came out. Now at 23 weeks sheis missing all her bottom baby teeth but canine and molars are still in. I have been gently tugging on a rope toy with her to help loosen those baby teeth.

| Cassi baby teeth started to fall out when she was around 5 months old. I brought her in to be spayed when she was 6 months old and they had to remove 7 baby teeths since her adult teeth was starting to grow in. The total bill, came out to be $535, which includes the spay, meds, overnight stay, 7 teeth extracted, and microchipping. She's now 6.5 months old and still has some of her baby teeth. So I may need to bring her in to have it removed under anesthesia at a later date. There goes another few hundred $$ out the door. |
