| Getting Puppy Teeth Pulled Ava has 2 puppy teeth in the way of her adult teeth, right in the front top. Should I take her and have them pulled (they are not very loose)? or Should I wait? What will they do when they pull them?

| How old is Ava? Most people wait until the puppy is older and have it done when their dog is being spayed or neutered, say around 7 or 8 months. |

Ava is about 5.5 months old. We are just worried its going to mess up her teeth so they won't be straight. They are her baby teeth that need taken out (if they do) Is that normal or not? Its a TINY bit loose. I called the vet and the information the lady gave me was just bring her in sometime but call, because they are busy. I said should I make and appointment and she said no, so I thought maybe it wans't a big deal? I've never had this issue. Should I just wait to see if it comes loose?

| It is very common for Yorkies to retain baby teeth. Just make sure she has something to chew on. I recommend cow ears because they last a long time, give plenty of chewing exercise and they generally do not upset the tummy. In most cases the puppy teeth fall out on there own by the time the dog is 1 year old. Are you planning on getting Ava spayed? |

| We wanted to see how big she would get, at some point I would like to breed, but I think she may max out at around 4 lbs, and if thats true I will probably spay her at about 7-8 months. I just don't want her to have bad teeth.

| It does sound like she will be too small to breed. She is a little doll. I would recommend you just get her puppy teeth pulled when she is spayed. It should not mess up her teeth by waiting until then. |
