| Food Issues...Maybe Not So I ran into my vet at a local pet food store looking for new food for my babies - they eat Nutro Puppy Rice & Lamb now. My little one is itchy so I was thinking about changing his food...anywho...she told me to stay away from CORN, WHEAT, SOY, CHICKEN, & BEEF. So I start searching and the ONLY one I can find that doesn't contain any of the above 5 ingredients is the Nutro Lamb & Rice...crazy! Has anyone ever heard of the this? Maybe his skin is just dry or something else - no fleas and I bathe him at least 1 time a week. He's itching toward his back, around his tail. Thanks for any info!!! |

| Food can make dogs very itchy if they are allergic to it, my lily can not have any corn or wheat I switched to Innova and no more itching. Quote:

| I have a couple of really great places to buy food in my area - better than Petco or PetSmart. I tried to slowly introduce the Royal Cannin Yorkie Food but he threw it up immediately. Plus, that has corn and wheat...not so good! |

| We use Solid Gold Wee Bits. Food can cause skin problems if they are allergic to something in the food.

| then i would HIGHLY suggest Wellness if you can get it. They have food that is made with venison and has no corn, wheat, soy, chicken, beef or milk... it is GREAT for allergies. |

| Hello! My yorkie is named Tia Maria too (but we just call her Tia, or TiTi or TiTiNu). When Tia started scratching a lot, I figured it was her food. We were given some good advice: to try to find foods with only 1 protein source (stay away from chicken, wheat etc) to help narrow down the allergen. Fromms makes at least one variety that has 1 protein source (maybe two). Right now Tia is enjoying Fromms Salmon a la Veg (although she is fussy and won't eat unless we put a little bit of yoghurt or grated cheese or small dices of fresh fruit on top...so spoiled!) Try posting under "Diet and Nutrition" ( off the top of my head, I think that's what it's called)....lot's of good advice is given there if you search.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I use California Natural lamb and rice since Cali is itchy all the time. It has helped some but not entirely.
