| Treats Hello every one! I want to know what kind of treats are safe for Yorkies? Other than the greenies.

| The breeder I got Mia from gives Captain Crunch Peanut butter cereal. I know others on here have mentioned other cereals. I give Mia TINY pieces of Pupcorn and also found at Petsmart little plastic bandaid type boxes with 'training' size Snausages, T shaped hard biscuits by Mighty Dog, and clear containers of training size Pupperoni. these I break into TINY bites as well - 1 tiny snausage is 8 treats -I'm stingy! She also gets the edible Nylabones to chew and occassionally a HUGE rawhide bone to chew, but it goes away if she starts to get anything off of it. I don't give her ANY people food, but hubby gave her a small piece(about 1" sq) of Pig Ear the other night and she loved it. Good luck with your pup! |

| Hercules loves the Pupperoni! I've found that they are cheaper at Target than Petsmart, if you want to make sure you get the best deal possible! |

| I tried the meat baby food with Luca Dean and he is CRAZY for it. Of course, it's hard to make that "treatable" unless you carry a spoon along. I mixed a bit with his food b/c he'd had a really good potty day the other day and he didn't even chew his food, he inhaled. I've heard NO turkey though. I also give tiny bits of the stick things that are somewhat rawhide-like but easier to break into pieces. I got a bag of 50 for 3 or 4 bucks. We also have real rawhide for the big dogs, but Luca Dean loves it and we let him chew if we are watching. (Great for teething.) And of course, greenies. Dean LOVES the flavor of his toothpaste too. All I have to do is stick the toothbrush in his mouth and he chews on it while I rub back and forth. If only all the treats were accomplishing results beyond satisfying him ... he still won't sit well. Last edited by lucynfred; 01-10-2005 at 10:45 AM. Reason: sp |

| I found that if I gave Archie snausages, or Pupperoni, he loved them but they caused diarrhea. Milk bone dog biscuits for little dogs work. He also likes chew sticks (the thin white ones-I think they're called twists or something). With greenies, i have to break them into smaller pieces, and end up finding them hid inside the couch. |

| i have discovered these chew strips for ahia. found them in wal mart. made by purina.. called "chew eez". she loves these things! and chews for a long time. i have to take them away from her when they get too small tho. they are beef hide but they don't splinter off like the other brands. they seem to dissolve. keeps her busy and happy for a long time. any one else used these?

| This is weird ...Otis won't touch anything except for dried liver treats or Gerber's Graduates (baby hotdogs in the baby food section.) |
