| New dog, drinks way too much then throws up!? Hi all! I just made a long trip to go pick up a 5 pound male Yorkie for my Granmother. He is wonderful We love His sweet and mature personality. The only problem (besides the fact that he is just skin and bones) is when we offered him water, he drank it all and then threw it up! Then when we got out of the car, he started drinking the rain puddles. The old owner told us that he will eat too much if we let him and then throw it up, but the water thing surprised me. Is this somthing serious? Diabetes? We will definitely be consulting a vet.

YT 500 Club Member | I would definitely have him checked out. We had a sick little puppy when we got ours, and now my husband always says that if we ever get another dog, we will have blood work done right away, just to be sure. Welcome, and I hope that your little guy is okay. How old is he? Keep us posted.

She did call the vet but they were closed. She will call again in the morning, since he seems to be fine at the moment. We will definitely look into it more though.

The lady we got Him from said she was in the process of moving and would send us the vet records when she unpacked. She did give us the name of her vet, though and we will be calling.
