| Probably a stupid question...do Yorkies tend to have high body temperatures? My son's Yorkie is 10 months old and I have noticed on several occasions how warm her skin everywhere is to the touch. I have two other small dogs and this is distinctly different from them. She is not ill in anyway but she does tend to overheat easily. When I take the three for a walk she is panting with her little tongue hanging out just going around the block. I have been really careful not to walk her too far. I would like to take she and my other two to the local dog park but am worried about her over heating. Is this typical of Yorkies..I would think just the opposite since they are so little they would have trouble keeping warm? Laura |

| Dogs temps are normally a few degrees higher than a human. That's why they always seem warm to us. Sure makes for good cuddling in the winter though.

| My yorkie puppy seems particularly prone to heat, I was up with her last night while she vomitted. She appears fine today, gums and eyes are good. She's playing, drinking water and eating. I am, of course, still worried about her. |
