| Nature's Variety for puppies? Hopefully someone can help..... Myah comes home this weekend and is currently on Solid Gold puppy, which seems really big for a 1.25 lb. puppy. I feed my Bichon the NV medallions and love them. I'd like to get Myah on that as soon as I can, and wondered if anyone every fed them to a 12 week old puppy. If so how much did you feed and how many times a day? The bag says 4-5 for a 10 lb. dog and doesn't say anything about puppies. Will I have to worry about Hypoglicemia if she is eating the raw since it digests faster? I have nutrical on hand. Also do I have to feed her during the night? Like 2 am? Thanks for any help. |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I've heard of many people bringing up pups on the raw frozen with great success. You could use their interactive feeding guide on their website - that would probably be easiest for calculating the needs. I just calculated for you and it appears the pup would need about 2.4 oz. of raw based on current weight. I wouldn't feed at 2 am. I would try to feed 3-4 times during the day at first. Sensitivities to hypogly are different for all dogs, so you'd have to see. At that age and weight (this was my Marcel's weight at 16 wks) - if it were me, I would supplement for the first week w/ Nutrical right upon waking and right before going to bed - so that both periods are covered. Nutrical can be used as a daily supplement, so don't let anyone tell you it is only for emergencies, bc that is not true. Read about first. http://www.jbpet.com/index.php?main_page=page&id=191 Here are the nutritionals for Nutrical: Guaranteed analysis (per teaspoon/6 grams): Protein - 0.7000% Fat - 34.5000% Calcium - 0.0026%, 0.16 mg Phosphorus - 0.0003%, 0.02 mg Potassium - 0.0025%, 0.15 mg Sodium - 0.0168%, 1.01 mg Chloride - 0.0055%, 0.33 mg Magnesium - 0.0063%, 0.38 mg Iron - 0.0088%, 0.53 mg Manganese - 0.0158%, 0.95 mg Iodide - 0.0080%, 0.48 mg Vitamin A - 734 IU Vitamin D - 55 IU Vitamin E - 5 IU Vitamin B1 (thiamine) - 1.520 mg Vitamin B2 (riboflavin) - 0.011 mg Pantothenic Acid - 1.74 mg Niacin - 1.90 mg Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine) - 0.73 mg Folic Acid - 0.19 mg Vitamin B12 (cyanocobalamin) - 1.83 mg **Also a source of linoleic, linolenic, eicosapentanoic acid, decosahexanoic acid and Omega-6 & Omega-3 fatty acids.

| NV has a feeding chart on their site where you can put your dogs weight, if it is a growing puppy, and activity level
