| It all depends on the size of parents.. but at 8 weeks you generally triple that weight and get approx weight.. then you can add a pound.. at 12 weeks you double.. I add a pound and if it does not happen then it is ok.. Like if you have a 1.5 pound at 8 weeks, if you triple it u get 4.5 add a pound and it would be about 5.5 maybe 6.. some baby's keep growing at an age where another yorkie at that same age has stopped growing.. I am sure you will get how others do it..but I think I am in the ball park.. |

| she is beautiful.....how much do you feed her at each feeding. do you feed her 3x's a day. it's been 6yrs since I 've had a puppy. she looks very normal and healthy but she is much heavier than my 2 were. so she is possibly either going to be a bigger yorkie or she is just heavy for her age. what did her parents looks like size wise? she is really gorgeous. tina

| I am thinking if you triple that weight.. it would be 7.2 full grown.. without adding the pound.. but keep that written down.. get her weight at exactly 12 weeks.. just walk into your vet with her.. tell them you want her weight.. that day double it.. I really do not think it is alway right on.. but will give you an idea... she is cute.. |

| My baby is 8 weeks old and weighs 12.4 oz but she was the runt of the litter. She is eating dry food but I have to break it up in order for her jaws to handle it. |

| I feed Innova w/ canned food mixed with it. She just had her first taste of yogurt and loved it. I am looking into homecooking. But am researching more.

| Can an 8 week old yorkie gain a pound in one week? Quote:
My baby weighs about the same as yours did at 8 weeks. How large did she get. The breeder said she would be 4 lbs. Her parents are only 4 lbs. The strangest part is that 1 week ago at 7 weeks, she only weighed a little over one lb. She was weighed at the breeders. I picked her up 6 days later and took her to the vet the next morning and she weighed over 2 lbs. Is that even possible. The breeder says it must be the food. Anyway the photo of your puppy looks so much like her, I just wondered what yours looks like now and how big she is. Thanks! yorkie Mia's mom | |

| Large gain in one week. I'm only asking is it unusual for a 7 week old puppy weighing a little over a pound to almost double in 7 days. Thanks! |
