| teeth are TOUGH! it has to be gradual... start by putting the toothpaste on your finger (it helps if it is chicken or something flavored) and just get him to lick it off.. then start by rubbing his gums.... a week or so later try letting him go to the back teeth.... then start with the toothbrush.. get him to lick it off the brush... and just go slow... i put Layla on her back because it is easiest for me... also try an infant toothbrush.. or toddler... the ones you get at the pet store are too big for our little guys.... and if wrapping him in a towel (after all the steps you take) is the only way to get him to lay still.. then so be it but i think if i go slow with him it will work out! |

| When he won't be still just hold him firmly by the scuff of the neck and firmly say 'NO' then slowly let up on your hold. Then when he wiggles again repeat the action. After awhile he will learn to be still. That is how the mom dogs teach puppies to behave, by grapping them and holding them down. If you every watch 'Dog Whisper' he makes a 'tish' sound when he is correcting a dog also. After awhile a dog will learn that when you make the 'tish' sound they better straighten up and stop what they are doing. |

| Have you tried a fingertip toothbrush? Those aren't quite so scary looking to them. Also, you might try using PetzLife Oral Care spray and gel. It works great!

| I use a piece of guaze wrapped around my finger and then wipe along the teeth inside and out. They still don't really like it, but it is MUCH easier than any type of toothbrush, including the finger brush.

| i have experienced the SAME thing with both my yorkies, honestly the only time i have EVER been able to brush their teeth is after a long hard day of play when they are TOO worn out to fight back!!! GOOD LUCK |
