| Sometimes I carry mace with me. I think you should walk your dogs. The chance of something happening is slim and your dogs will appreciate the exercise

| I always think of that too when I am walking my babies. I am so happy I am not the only one. I am very protective of my babies! I read somewhere that you should change your route everyday. Never walk the same way all the time. and I also thought about buying some mace just in case.

| Toto and I take "Papa" with us! If he sees a meduim/large sized dog a block away, he scoops Toto up in his arms and carries her until he knows there is no danger! Seriously, although we live in a very safe neighborhood, you just never know. We just take our walks when Patrick is with us. Mace is a good idea ... I bought that for my daughter and she keeps it with her all the time. Be very careful and don't walk alone! There really is safety in numbers.

| I'm not a big fan of dog parks because any number of parisites, parvo and so on can be picked up there quicker than anywhere else. Dogs love walks, and you should walk them daily. If your afraid of all the "what-if's", then get some mace or pepper spray and walk with another person. I don't walk mine without my husband because of two encounters with other large dogs. |
