| throwing up bile took lexi to the groomer saturday and they had her for 3 hours and when she got home about a hour later, she was throwing up bile.. i figured it was because she was so nervous, but them this morning, she threw up bile again... i rarely take her to the groomers, i do it myself, but i needed her to have a professional cut.. only once a year i do this.. can she be sick from the place?? now im nervous.. and, my friends asked me to ask you about her yorkie throwing up bile all the time... whats that about? could it be serious with her dog? and what could it be?

| I would guess it isn't from the groomer unless they gave her something she wasn't supposed to have. She wouldn't have gotten sick that fast. Usually throwing up bile happens in the morning. It just means their stomach is empty. Try giving a snack before bed to see if it helps. Ellie used to throw up every week or two when she was on junk dog food. This is rarely the reason though I would say. If they are throwing up sporadically and there has been no diet change and it isn't getting any better I would ask your vet. If a puppy is ever throwing up, it doesn't matter what it is, I would have them to the vet immediately. That wouldn't be the time to take a chance.

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | Gina lexi was probably nervous from the groomer and probably didn't eat her dinner as much as she should have. A good thing when that happens is to give a small snack before bedtime and see if it helps.

| I forgot to add that while I don't think she got an actually sickness from the groomer, she could have thrown up from stress... That wouldn't explain why she keeps doing it though.

| Since its only been twice I wouldn't be concerned. Just make sure she eats a snack before bed. When she had thrown up at 5am, was this right before or right after eating?

| I would just try feeding a snack right before bed.

| I have figured out that with my 1 yr. old Yorkie have to feed him three small meals per day compared to the others' two meals. When we go to bed I feed him another small meal of kibble. This has solved the problem. If I don't he up-chucks. In reality he doesn't get anymore than the others it is just spread out. Joanne |

| Gina, sorry Lexi had such a rough day Sat. I would guess she got herself sick due to stress being at the groomer's. Yellow bile means empty stomach. So the stress and empty stomach probably were the cause. Hope she is more like herself today. Hugs, |
