| Does anyone have this problem with Innova This is my very first post and I hope someone can help me out. After reading so many posts about how RC wasn't the best food, I changed Sophie to Innova puppy food. She's been eating it for 2 months now and loves it. The problem is her stools are really dry...really, really dry. She always has lots of fresh water and doesn't have a problem going (sorry) but I'm wondering if I should do something to about this. Sophie's 8 months now and I'm thrilled she's mine. I just adore her! |

| Is it causing her to be constipated or to have trouble pooping? If not, I wouldn't do anything...it's normal for premium foods to cause smaller, firmer poop. If they are giving her trouble, maybe add a little fish oil to her diet...it will be good for her skin and coat and should help with the poop

| Welcome to YT!! I add a bit of water to the dry Innova -- it must make a nice gravy, because my cat was trying to steal some from Bubba the other day Nice solid poos are a good thing. If she is pasiing them, I wouldn't think they were too dry. If it was a problem she would be constipated I believe. Do you have water always available? Mine have a bit of water on the Innova, then they poo almost immediately after eating. An hr or so after they've eaten I'll see them head for the water bowl for the first time for the day.

| I don't remember if it was my vet or who told me, but someone said that when their poops are more formed and drier, it helps to clear the anal sacs too so they don't need to have them expressed. Max isn't on Innova (although I'm trying him on EVO right now to see how he reacts to it ...there's never a problem with EATING it; he'll eat ANYTHING ) but his prescription food made his poops a lot drier since he started on it and the vet said it was a good thing. Of course, as long as they're not having problems passing it or any pain or constipation (which you said your dog wasn't having). Makes for a much easier pickup too!

| I am currently using Innova and I find that Autumns poop is much firmer then Blaze's. I add Missing Link to both of their meals!

| Dry foods do not contain enough moisture for dogs...Adding water would be beneficial for your baby.
