| My breeder says put it off as long as pssible, as the rabies shots are very hard on Yorkies. Beacuse her dogs do not some in contact with others, she does not give rabies shots. There can be bad reactions to the shot.

| Stewie got his @ 6 months - and not to scare you, but I almost lost him to it. I'd say put it off as long as possible. Obviously, I am biased since my baby got very sick.

| My vet and I are putting it off for Lexy since she is so small. I'm thinking around 8 months or so I'll try it. My vet wants me to leave her there for a few hours when she gives it to her so if anything does go worng she can treat it immediately. I also confirmed with her that the dose is the same for a tiny Yorkie as it is for a Great Dane! My vet is going to lessen the dose some for Lexy though, even though she isn't supposed to. I hope that will be all right and the shot will still be effective. does anyone know?

| Linus got his at 4 months and had a bad allergic reaction to it. He was almost 3 lbs. I would honestly wait a little bit, and especially make sure that it is given to him seperate from any other shot and not as a part of a series. I would wait at least 2 weeks if not more after his last set of puppy shots. With the rabies shot being as hard as it is on them, that at least helps a little.

| Does anyone know what exactly it is in the shot(s) that gives some dogs reactions and some not? |

| I have no idea. My vet said it's very uncommon for yorkies to have allergic reactions to the rabies vaccine but it's really common for chi's. I have no idea what the difference is...
