my baby eats poo!!! My little Reese is 8 months old and eats her poo!! She also eats other dogs poo when we go outside to potty. If she has accidents in the house, I try to clean it up as soon as possible, but sometimes she's too quick! And if she sniffs too long at some poo outside, I say "NO" and pull her away, but I don't always catch her. I'm worried about her getting sick from other dogs! Has anyone else had this problem, or know how to make her stop? Thanks, Amy

deter is something they eat that makes their poop less tasty (as if we could consider it tasty to begin with.......lol.... yuk) as far as other dogs poo, you might want to start teaching the command "leave it"

My sister's dog eat his poo also and her cats poo, since cats have a lot of protein in there food that is why they go for that, so when he eats the cats poo or food then he eats his poo, anyway I got her some stuff from my vet that u give to them it's a powder and u put it on their food or other pets u have food and it gives it a worse taste and then he won't eat it anymore, give you vet a call i'm sure they will know what to do. hope this helps you.

Roxy and TJ eat their poop too. TJ seems to do it first and more than Roxy. I CAN'T STAND IT...I too try and get it before they do, but either they do in the middle of the night in the dark in their room (of course I am sleeping) or after we all get up in the AM and eat breakfast they always seem to wait until I go to use the bathroom and then they quickly run to corner, poop and then go to town. And I am at work all day so god only knows what happens then!!! When I get home there is either a little evidence that poop 'was' there or sometimes and just sometimes a pile of poop is left untouched or at least only licked once or twice...GROSS...I tried the forbid stuff and it didn't really work. I wish I knew what else to do!

There is a solution In the DR.Foster & Smith Catalog ( a very good one indeed) there is a product specifically design to be added to their poop so that when they try to eat it the taste is awful and after a few times they will just turn away and not even consider the option of eating. Hope this is

My dog did this when he was a puppy also. But instead we put a small amount of Tabasco sauce on anything he tried to eat. It quicky broke him of the habit.
