Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | i'd feed merricks over royal canine. But personally i wouldn't feed either. I like solid gold, wellness, or canidae better.

| Royal Canin isn't a very good food and it's known to cause a lot of problems among Yorkies. I would reccomend Merrick over Royal Canin any day. Also, other good foods like kalina82 said are Wellness, Canidae, Nature's Variety, Innova, and California Natural. You can find these in specialty pet stores or feed stores sometimes have them.

| i feed orijen but some people prefer to feed something thats lower in protein and grain free. but anything grain free would be the best. http://www.dogfoodanalysis.com/dog_f...wcat.php/cat/8 any of those work, although ive heard mixed reviews on evo. good luck! |

My furkids Donating Member | I had Sadie on RC when I first got her...she's a fussy little thing so I had to keep changing until I found something that she would eat. Now we have Lillie Jean....I have had them both on Canidae for about a year now and have recently mixed Merricks with Canidae to give them a little variety. I can't remember if RC was one of the call back foods?

| the first 10 ingredients kind of turned me off to royal canine Chicken meal, brewers rice, brown rice, chicken fat, chicken, corn gluten meal, dried egg powder, barley, natural chicken flavor, cellulose id like to have chicken as the #1 ingredient on my food rather than chicken meal. and id rather have actual egg than egg powder. its just the quality. your pup may be getting the same nutrition from cheaper ingredients but id rather have the real thing in their food for a bit more money. and the fact that this diet in rc contains lots of grains and fillers keeps me away from it. if you are willing to pay the money for the higher quality foods that would be your best bet but if not then im sure they wouldnt have any problems on any food you choose. I just try to feed my kids the 6 star foods and its my personal preference. |

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | the corn gluten meal is what turns me off the most. Corn is one of the main allergy causers in dogs, especially yorkies. corn is also just a filler and has no nutritional value what so ever
