| Do "calmers" work? We are taking an 8 hour road trip in a week with my two dogs and my sister's hyperactive little dog and we are trying to come up with the best way to keep them calm during the trip. We've taken a few road trips and they usually don't mind being in the car, the biggest issue is that they feel the need to bark and bark and bark for hours at a time which can be a problem. My sister's dog has an especially hard time calming down in the car. I was at Petsmart and one of the guys who worked there suggested calmers in either pill or liquid form or aromatherapy type calmers. I'm wondering if anyone has had any success with any kind of calming product and what, if any, do you recommend. Thanks~!

| I've heard you can give your yorkie a drop of Rescue Remedy. It works for humans, I swear by it. don't take my word for this though. Call your vet first. I'm just telling you because so many people have said that the do it. |

| When I drove up to Tahoe with my first Yorkie, Archie who was SOOO hyper and noisy, I had to give him a little pill that I got from the vet to make him be calm down. I drove up at night, and he stared at the glowing radio the entire 4-hour drive like he was on acid. |

| ^^ It was Archie, my first Yorkie, who was so hyper I couldn't control him. He was a basket case. He got hit by a car. RIP. Otis is really calm and docile and needs Red Bull to wake him up. I prefer Otis's personality. We are a match made in heaven. |

| We have had good results using the DAP system starting with the pheronome diffuser in the house and gradually introducing it to the car, in conjunction with Bach rescue remedy. |

| Years ago, we had a dog that we had to give him a "Happy Pill" before we left. It was from the vet, so I have no idea what it was, only that it worked.
