| Bad Breath Hi - My six month old Yorkie - Gracie is starting to really loose her baby teeth and getting her adult teeth. (I have been finding teeth everywhere). The problem is - her breath is terrible and I have done everything - brushing her teeth, giving her bones that supposedly clean teeth. I have looked in her mouth and everything seems fine and the new teeth she has are clean and white. I was going to call my vet, but I figured I would post here first to see if anyone has ideas for me.

| Bentleys breath was horrible........and has been for a few months he is 7 months old now, I took him to the vet yesterday to be neutered and he still had some baby teeth in there and they removed them and said that is why his breath was so bad and it should be fine now. It is, still has abit of odour as it was only done yesterday, but oh.........so.......much better, lol. I had thought they were all out except for a couple in the front but they removed six |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Dixie is 6 months old and her breath is so bad you can't get to close lol. I didn't know if it was her teething or her kidney failure. I was going to ask the vet.

| We just went throught the same thing with out 6 month old Bear. As soon as the vets assistant saw him she said he smelled like he had an infection. She hit the nail on the head this was confirmend by the vet. His breth was so bad your eyes would water. She showed us the infection gave him a shot ang fluids. Sent us home with Clavamox to give him 2 days later smell gone. I bet your little one has an infection. This was caused by a baby tooth not letting go. |

| She's probably got retained baby teeth. Are you planning on getting her spayed? Your vet will just remove them during her spay. |

| teeth If it smells like rotten meat, it is no doubt from puppy molar caps not falling out...it causes the food to collect in the double teeth and rot...the vet can take a look... |

| Wow I have never had any of my yorkies have bad breath. I was hoping that was due to the breed itself. I guess not. I have a 7mo old and she hasn't lost hers yet. So hope she won't be the first to do this.

| Every dog in out family gets it teeth cleaned every 12 months by the vet. I have 1 Female Yorkie + a 36 day old puppy but my parents 12 year old male yorkie who is the father to my puppy always has 1-2 teeth pulled every time he get his teeth cleaned. No joking this dog I think has like 5 teeth left. Thankfully my little girl has good teeth and has never had a rotten tooth which needed to be pulled. Hopefully the puppy will have good teeth like the mother too. Funny thing is the father is a 5 pound yorkie and mother is just under 3 pounds. Vet told me normally the smaller yorkies tends to have more problems than the larger ones. |
