| What To Do About My Pig!!! I have a female yorkie who is a pig.she eats everything in site and watches you eat with radar eyes while salvitating.I am so upset.I give her and my boy soft food as a treat every now and then.but she will eat all of hers and then all of his.so tonight I call myself being smart and fed them right next to me but got caught up in another thread about yorkies and sex and not being allowed, very funny . so I look up after reading 18 pages and he is looking up at me with sad eyes and she looks like she swallowed him she is so big I can't believe it I am so mad she is 41/2 lbs with a really short and petite frame and her stomach is huge now . he is such a good boy he will let her eat first only she won't leave him a lick.I HAVE to monitor her when she eats. anyone has experience with this type of behavior or advice.she is really not hungry and now I am on Sarah (her name)watch to see what happens to all that food and that she's ok.

| Romeo is the same way. Always acting like he's starving. Drives hubby crazy. We have to put him in his pen just so we can eat. He just sits there and barks and whines. And he is never fed from the table. Hubby thinks he has tape worm LOL. But his bowl always has food in it. |

| she is sooo greedy. I worry about her.she will have peroids of pickiness when we have given her something really tasty and then she has to go back to the hard food.I just wonder if this is curable as we have to watch what is down for everyone all the time she even cleans the cat bwol and that is not good.she is not food aggressive I can explain it best by saying she slams her face into the bowl and doesn't come up till every bite is gone.not much time to be agressive she is just faster than the rest of them getting to the food.

| Perhaps you should consider changing her food. Just a thought. Maybe she isn't satisfied. How many times of day does she eat? My male is 6.4 lbs and eats 1/4 cup dry food, a heaping tablespoon of cooked meat or chicken and a teaspon of yogurt. He is very satisfied with this and sometimes does not eat every morsel. He is fed twice per day. Hope you are to get answers to your question. |

| I only have 1 baby.. and she is such a pig!! Lately it gets me so mad. She won't even sit quietly and beg for food.. oh no!!! Now, it's like she's demanding the food. I admit.. I will give her A PIECE of my food WHEN I'M DONE but that's only one or two tiny pieces.. It's some people (I won't say who) that give it to her.. AHHHHHHH!!!!! Sorry for venting.. but I completely understand your frustration

Is Sara the one you got from "that breeder"? If so I wonder if her eating habits stem from that enviroment?? I don't know how she kept her dogs but I know someone who had simular issues from one of her dogs she got that was onver a year old too. | |

My Tiny Treasures Donating Member | No the are not a memeber. But she told me her's eats real fast too almost like if she don't, she won't eat. I'm wondering if this breeder had so many dogs all together it was a fend for yourself. Her dog wasn't socialized either. Loved other dogs but scared as heck of people where she would always run and hide and not come out. She was 1 when she got her. Makes you wonder??? |

YT 500 Club Member | Ours is a very picky eater, but sometimes she just can't get enough. She will eat her breakfast and want more of anything! The next day she won't eat one of her meals. Some days she begs all day long. I never know how to handle this. Over Christmas our daughter brought her two larger dogs, and Sophie didn't get much to eat (we had to move her food so the other dogs wouldn't get it, and she was also nervous). So, after they left, she wanted to eat constantly for the next week! It seems we are always having some feeding issue or other.

| Ellie is the same way. She was fine on kibble and could regulate herself but now on homecooked I put the plate down and she doesn't pick her head up til she's done. She eats faster if you are about to take the plate away and sometimes she growls or snaps. I don't get it. She always acts hungry and when her food is on the counter cooling she barks at it. When she acts like she needs something (to go outside) I get up and she takes me to the fridge.

| She is probably "a competitive eater". When puppies are weaned and given food all through the day it is called free feeding, when they are given meals at a specific time of day you can imagine all the puppies racing to get more food than the other puppies. I have 3 that were not free fed and are very competitive eaters, I have to stand by them and make sure they eat out of their own bowls. The rest eat in another room and take their time because they were raised by free eating. |

| I have a PIG too! She inhales the food on her plate before I can blink, then she circles the kitchen area faster and faster anticipating more food. Which is the apple that I am cutting up, she knows that's for them too and she loves apples, by the 10th circle, she starts barking as if she hasn't been feed in over a year I also have to feed all dogs separtly and away from each other b/c Roxy will stalk the other plates too, and she 'goes in for the kill' when ever there is an open spot. I am constantly yellig "Roxy" and she stops, but I can't take my eyes off of her. Sometimes I do wonder, 'exactly how much can she eat' 'Any' noise coming from the kitchen (fridge opening, zip lock baggies, etc.) Roxy goes flying off the couch and races into the kitchen I don't know, she is not being starved so I don't get it |
