| Picky Little Puppy My Leo is a very tiny puppy he is only 1.3 lbs. He such a picky eater. The breeder started him on Iams smart puppy canned and dry he ate that for a few days and then he wanted no part of it. I then tried wellness puppy and he wont even touch the dry and takes a few licks of the canned food. I need Help! I just want to make sure he eats enough. |

| This is the not so fun part, weaning the pup onto dog food. At nine weeks he should still be with his mommy, that is the recommendation for toy breeds. What I do with the picky ones is mix human baby cereal with chicken gravy baby food. I also keep their dry kibble in their bowl at all times. Right now I have a tiny one that I put his food in a syringe and I just squeeze it out and he likes it off, he eats better if I do it that way. But I am not forcing him to eat, he is eating it. When he gets sick I have to force him to eat. He has gotten sick really bad once on me and I thought I was going to loose him. Be sure to get some Nutri Cal to give your pup, if you have Kayro that can be used but the Nutri Cal has vitamins that is benefecial to a pup that is not eating well. Have you talked to your breeder about this? Do you know about Hypoglcemia ? When their blood sugar bottoms out? That can be fatal so be careful, the nutri cal is good for that and also Light Kayro syrup. But you don't want to over use or they get diarrhea Deana Prestigeous |
