| Riley is getting neutered!! Hes getting neutered in February and we are going in a week to do blood work. The vet said since I don't have his rabies shot record that they will have to give him another one. The vet said it was going to ok to give it to him again, but some people on here said it wouldn't be. Is there anyway they could prove hes had it without giving him the full shot? I contacted the breeder, but she doesnt have his papers either. |

| Most vets are going to tell you it's okay. It's okay in the sense that it probably won't hurt but it's not okay in the sense that rabies vaccines are very hard on the body and a concern to give at all. It is just that now Riley will be put in this danger and have double this poison that he has to have. I don't see your other options though. By the way, it is too early to do bloodwork. A lot can change in a month. Ellie's vet prefers to do it the morning of the surgery. I wouldn't consider it more than about a week before. Ellie had had some bloodwork done about two weeks before her spay and they still did a CBC that morning because we had some other health issues going on.

| Hmmmmmmmm.... Alright.... I think I'm going to move Riley's blood work date closer to February then. Will it be ok to get him neutered, his teeth cleaned, teeth pulled and micro chipped all in one day? |

| It sure would be okay. Ellie had a spay, teeth cleaning and liver biopsy in one day. Some vets will do the teeth while the dog is falling asleep because it isn't really painful and that way they aren't under anesthesia for longer than necessary. Ellie's vet cleaned teeth last because the spay needed to be done and the teeth were optional. If something went wrong under anesthesia the spay would've been done and they can stop in the middle of teeth cleaning and wake the dog up. Either way is fine as long as you trust your vet.

| YAY! I decided to rip apart my apartment to try and find Riley's records and I FINALLY found them!! I've been looking for weeks for those things. Lol. Now I don't have to worry about the rabies shot. He doesnt have his Rabies tag though, so will that matter? |

| I have a yorkie named Riley too! He is getting neutered on January 17th which is 2 weeks from today...I am getting nervous! But then again hopefully it will calm him down just a little bit...he is a very active busy puppy...he will be 6 months at the time of the surgery. Christa

| Congratulations. I would be so relieved. I don't know if he needs his tag. Here in Michigan the vet gives the shot and gives the tag. You take the signed paper or something like that to the county and they give you a license. I don't know exactly because Ellie has never been registered with the county. I need to take care of it but atleast she has the shot. You might want to call and see what they need. Ellie had her shot at this vet's so they didn't need proof.
