| Food EMERGENCY! I'm with my hubby's family for the holidays & we had an accident with the food I brought for Bobby - resulting in us with NO food. I have him on Canidae & there are NO places that sell it around where they live.. so, I've been thinking about putting him on a store brand. Any suggestions? Is Beneful good? I hate to do it but I tried ordering it online & I still have to wait at least 4 days. ANY suggestions would be helpful!

| Please do not use Beneful. It is possibly one of the worst foods ever. If all you have is a grocery store there is nothing there that I would consider feeding. Maybe homecook for awhile? If you will be there for an extended period you will have to supplement.

| How much does he weigh? Is he a puppy? Do you have access to a food scale for grams and ounces? Yes, I have a recipe. How long will you need to use a recipe?

| Ellie is 5 1/2 pounds and her recipe is: 1 ounce boneless, skinless, white meat chicken with no fat, boiled 88 grams carb (brown rice usually) 60 grams mixed veggies (carrot and green bean mixed are good) If you use canned green beans unsalted are best. 1 tsp canola oil (or olive oil) Supplements Cook veggies, carb and meat and mix with oil and supplements. You could probably just do 1/3 meat, 1/3 veg and 1/3 carb for now. Don't forget to cut the oil amount down if your dog is smaller. This recipe is 24% protein so you can probably up the meat if you use Ellie's recipe.

| OH & since I'm going to start homecooking his meals.. How often should I feed him these meals? Once, twice a day?

| I feed three times a day but see no problem with twice. When feeding homecooked you have to feed a lot of bulk so three meals is easiest. Ellie eats about 3/4 cup a day.

| Mmmmm.. so I should be spacing out about 1 cup of food throughout one day? Sorry for all the questions - I'm new to home-cooking Bobby's meals. I'm thinking about doing it permanently since there's been such a ruckus w/ dog food lately.

| Try 1/2 a chopped boiled egg, 1 Tablespoon cottage cheese, 1 Tablespoon oatmeal or brown rice, and a shredded baby carrot or 1" of banana, chopped.
