| Coughing for 5 weeks!! X-ray showed nothing! Yoday has been coughing for around 5 weeks. He started at 9 weeks and we got him at 8 weeks. He is on his 4th antiobiotic and has taken a steriod. Also, he is taking something to open his bronchial tubes. The vet did a xray and can not find anything wrong. Yoda's trachea was very sensitive to the vet's rub. The vet also said that there is nothing else he can do if the last medicine does not get rid of the cough!!! After 2 days, he still is coughing. I am so frustrated!!! Other than the cough he is very healthy!

| I'm so sorry your vet hasn't been able to resolve this problem for Yoda..... You could seek out a holistic vet.s services, sometimes they have other alternatives that a traditional vet doesn't have....I sure wish I had one near me.....Good luck with Yoda.... http://www.holisticvetlist.com/ahvma_query_advanced.php

| I am sorry Yoda is not well. I would agree to take him to another vet or a holistic vet. Good luck with your baby.

| when we got my baby cookie she had a cough too and her medicine helped but not too much the breeder was putting her in a nebulizer(sp) 1-2 times a week and i really think this is what did the work!! and from what i understand its like a steam room but the steam is a medicine that helps their chest!!

| i have same problem my baby has had a cough for 3 months! about a month after i got her she started coughing, the doc gave her some meds they didn't help much. after the meds were through she actually stopped coughing as much, 3 months have passed and she still coughs sometimes, but only at night sometimes when she goes to sleep. i have heard that it could take a couple months to get rid of the cold completely. but i wonder if thats too many chemicals going into your dogs little body. too many meds? |
