| Overweight at 3 1/2 weeks?? Can a puppy this young be overweight? Babsy had 2 little boys on 11/16/07. Cole is smaller be 3oz and he is taking several steps at a time. Edison is larger, he weighs more but he is longer & has a bigger head also so he is just bigger from head to toe but, it seems like his belly is so big that he can't get his back legs up under him to lift up. Is he overweight, is there something wrong with his back legs, or is he just taking his time getting started & I am being paranoid?? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. |

You might google "swimmer puppy" if that is what is wrong there are ways to help them get on their feet and avoid chest deformities that can occur being on it all the time. Hopefully that is not the case and he is just a little slower in development, but I would check it out and make sure. Let us know what happens!

| Thanks everyone for getting back to me. I hope he is just a late bloomer but I will google "swimmer puppy" so that I will know what to look for and get him into the vet if he hasn't made progress by early in week 4. |
