| Spay Question Lolo just got home from the vet about an hour ago from being spayed (and she had to have 12 (!) baby teeth out as she had retained them. She is on a blanket on the floor whining, which breaks my heart. Does anyone know if it is okay to pick her up? (I have just been lying on the floor with her) If I can, is there any special way I need to do it? I feel so helpless right now |

| Yup, pick that dolly up. I just picked Ellie up right under her chest and behind her back legs. She couldn't walk... Ellie also whined like that. They did give you pain meds, right?

| You can pick her up just be gentle. She'd probably feel more comfortable with you on your bed, or her in your arms.

| Bella cried too and I'd never heard her cry like that. And I agree, she'd rather be with you.

| Yes, they gave her pain medication that last for 24 hours and then gave me more to give her twice daily for the next few days. Poor little thing is just constantly whining and I feel horrible for her! |

Bella Boo & Diggy Too! Donating GS Member | My Bella also had 10-12 pulled at time of spay and the only way she stopped whining is for me to hold her. I think Bella hated feeling groggy after the surgery...not so much pain. She is a control freak so feeling groggy made her feel a bit out of control i am sure. Good luck and I hope your baby feels better soon.

| of course you can pick her up! Just be gentle of where her incision is. I wrap my babies in blankets so they feel very secure and warm and just hold them that way. Your baby would probably love it if you picked her up and cuddled her!
