| Personally I feed 3 times a day. And that is with a 10mos old and also when he was 12 weeks. We leave non-stop water out also. |

| Riley is free fed, meaning his water and food is out all the time. When I first got him though, I made sure he ate enough about 3 times a day. Now he just eats on his own whenever hes hungry. |

| I feed Lacy twice a day. I think 2-3 times a day is fine for an adult. 3-4 times a day for a puppy.

| I don't think it makes them fat. I've read when some yorkies don't stop eating. They just eat everything in their bowls. I think that makes them fat, but if your dogs don't go crazy on their food then it shouldn't be a problem. I might be wrong though. If free feeding increases the chance of a yorkie being obese or fatter then SOMEBODY LET ME KNOW!! Lol... I wonder if I should stop that. |

| I agree with MyFairLacy. Two - three times a day for an adult and three - four for a puppy. I feed 3x a day because Ellie gets hungry midday and can't wait til night and since it is homecooked she would have to eat too much at one time if it was only given in two meals. Free feeding is fine as long as your dog knows when to stop eating.

| I feed mine once a day, and they seem to be fine with that. I feed them about four o'clock everyday, so they'll have time to relieve themselves before they lay down for the night.
