| Going to do vaccinations myself. gots some ? Between my father and I, we have 6 dogs (i have 2 and he has 4) plus 4 more that were born less than 2 weeks ago (long story short, the puppies came from an accidental breeding between brother and sister). I plan on using the duramune 5 way vaccinations with corona virus when the puppies reach 6 weeks old. I've searched the forums and basically found that this shot is a good choice for their first shots. My question is about the other 6 dogs that we have. All of my dads shot records were destroyed in a fire over a year ago. My mother knew all the info but she died last valentines day, so we are basically lost on what they need. There is no problem giving the adult dogs this vaccine just to be certain that they are protected, right? Thanks in advance...

| Please do not give Corona virus vaccine. This virus ONLY affects dogs eight weeks and under. When they do get it it lasts about three days. cornell had reported ONE case in a seven year period. They is also a risk for adverse reactions.

Ok, why would it hurt for me to give them the vaccine though? The virus is dead. What kind of adverse reactions? My vet was going to give the puppies the corona virus vaccine.

| Can't you call your vet that gave the other dogs their shots and get their records so they aren't being over vaccinated? |

| http://www.animaldoc.com/vaccinations.htm This might help. It is your decision and Ellie's vet office recommends it also. That really means nothing to me. I let her have it once and I am now upset about it. If vaccines couldn't cause harm it would be very different. The fact is that vaccines can be very dangerous. My Yorkie went into shock after her last vaccines. They carry side effects and suppress the immune system. I would not want to put unnecessary poison into my dog's body. I also would not vaccinate at home because if an immediate reaction occurs, it can't be fixed at home. I will have to look for the site that I found saying that Cornell only saw one case of Corona in seven years. I should have saved it.

| This is the vaccination protocol recommended by Dr. Jean Dodds which has been adopted by twenty-seven vet schools. Please note that Dr. Dodds does not recommend either corona or lepto. http://www.doglogic.com/vaccination.htm |

http://www.treshanley.com/cic/vaccines.html Also, my Daisy got her first intranasal dose of Lepto after being told she should be vaccinated since we live in an area with alot of wildlife. For about a good week or two afterwards she would go into some serious inverted sneezing fits which were quite long & very scarey. We chose not to get the second shot & will not vaccinate her for it again.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | If at all possible, give ONLY the core vaccines which are: rabies, distemper and parvo. Anything else is considered non-core and only give if your dog will be exposed in the areas you live or frequently travel to.
