| At What age is it best to have them spayed? At what age do you think its best to have your dog spayed? Mya goes in on the 15 of Dec, that was the soonest I could get her in/ She will be 9 months old at the time... Is this still ok?? |

| My vet does mine between 5-6 mos. but, as long as she hasn't had her first heat yet, she will be fine..If you get them spayed before their first heat, their chances of not getting certain cancers are a lot better...That's good that you're having her spayed..! |

| Yep, thats definitely okay...but there's a possibility she might go into her first heat before that, so you might want to find a way to get it done sooner if thats a concern.

| I think between 5-6 months is most routine and probably best, although any time after that time is fine too (but there is a chance of them going into heat before). When I get my next dog, she'll be spayed by 5 months of age

| Its best done before the first heat which is usually at 6 months. Elphaba goes in early January, she'll be a little over 5 months. |

| A lot of times, the smaller dogs don't come in to heat as early as the big dogs...I had my shepherd spayed at 8 mos. which is always later than I do them, but, she hadn't come in to heat yet..sometimes, like humans, they can come in earlier, but from what I've seen on the smaller, ones, it's usually always later...I've known some not to come in to heat until well after 1 year |
