Is my Yorkie Pregnant Hi everyone, I have a Yorkie her name is Rosie I was with a friend who had a male we were talking and next thing you know they were stuck. This happened May 14, 2005. I read in one of the postings that one of the signs of pregnancy is the yellow liquid they vomit. I only saw it one time about 4 weeks ago. Sometimes her belly looks really big and sometimes it doesn't. Her teats are big they use to be really flat before. She only gained about 2 ounces. Does anyone think that she may be pregnant?

| I agree get a xray this is a great site for you to read if she is indeed pregnant http://www.debbiejensen.com/signs_of_pregnant.html also find someone that can help you whelp that has experience. here is what the pregnacy calendar says you should expect with the dates give or take a day or two...calculated from your date of May 14th Fri 17 Jun 2005 The Dams abdomen starts to get larger. Mon 27 Jun 2005 It's very easy now to feel the puppies, counting them might be a bit more difficult. Thu 30 Jun 2005 - Fri 8 Jul 2005 Dam begins to spend a lot more time in self-grooming. Her breasts become even more swollen. She may become a bit restlessness and begin to search for a suitable place to have her puppies. Sat 2 Jul 2005 The dam might lose her appetite during this period. Her abdomen can be crowded with puppies. It is better to feed several smaller meals spaced throughout the day. You can easily detect abdominal movement now. Sat 2 Jul 2005 - Sun 17 Jul 2005 Nipples and vulva should be gently cleaned with warm water, you might want to trim the hairs surrounding the nipples, to allow easier access for the puppies to suck. Tue 12 Jul 2005 - Fri 15 Jul 2005 Milky fluid may be expressed from the nipples. Wed 13 Jul 2005 You might want to start taking the dams rectal temperature each morning and evening. Sat 16 Jul 2005 Twelve to 24 hours before she is due to deliver, the dams rectal temperature may drop from 101 to 98 degrees. Clear discharge from the vulva might occur. Sun 17 Jul 2005 Expected date of whelp. Of course this is just an average. Whelping may take place from the 59th to the 65th day. Puppies born before the 58th day will probably be too young to survive.

I would love additional info. Was she in heat? How long? I am asking because I do know of a female that would stand for a male in heat or not. Did either of you know she was in heat? How large is she? How large is the male? Is he a Yorkie or another breed? How large is he and his ancestors? Is there a mentor who will help you? How about the studs' mom. I agree with Pat--get that X-ray soon. I hope you have the best of luck because this could get rough.. Please accept my apologies if you are offended...

Is my Yorkie Pregnant The other dog is also Yorkie. Rosie is short and husky the male was tall and skinny. I really did not want to mate her. I am hoping she is not pregnant because I am really afraid for her. As for her being in heat, she got her period around the 6th or 7th of May. Does that mean that she was in heat? Does it also mean that she can be pregnant? I am planning on taking her for x-rays on the 9th of July is that an ok date?

Rosie Rosie's is 2yrs old. The male Yorkie is 7yrs old. I really need to find out if she is pregnant because if she is according to the website mentioned before she would be whelping around July 17th. Her stomache area is really hard and I cannot tell if there is anything in it. Rosie has always been very loving to me I got her when she was 12 weeks old and there is not much change, she is still very active and she eats only when she's hungry. She is really close to me and wants to cuddle all the time. Anyway I will keep everyone posted. Bye for now.

Anything yet? If she is going to be a mommy, just think of all the cuddle time you will have with the entire family.
