| Problems with Interceptor? Our vet gave Interceptor (in a bite of baby food) to Jo when she treated him for heartworms but when we got home he threw up. Even though it was a short ride I thought he was just car sick from eating before getting in the car...they gave him a little cookie also...so I didn't think anything of it. Well, I treated him again today but he threw up again...this time it was quite a while after the pill though. Has anyone had trouble with Interceptor? Is there something else he can take that might set better with him? I might ad that both times he also got Advantage topical flea treatment applied on the same day. Could it just have been too much at once? |

| Jo-Jo- I use the Interceptor on Tino & Bunny with no problems, but when I started taking them outside more I switched to the Sentinel. Its the exact same pill as Interceptor but it includes the flea protection. I would ask your vet to try the Sentinel and forego the topical flea treatment and see if that works. The only problem with this though is that I don't think it protects against ticks.

| Thanks. We'll be moving next week so I'll have to get lined up with a new vet and go from there. I remember talking about the Sentinel but I don't remember why we decided on Interceptor...maybe it was the tick thing. |

| Some vets don't like using a systemic flea protectant. That could be why too. Tino and Bunny don't go outside in the winter months, so I only use flea protection in the summer months.

| I have used Interceptor on my dogs for many, many years with no problems. You said it was given to your dog for the TREATMENT of heartworms. Interceptor is not for treating of heartworms, but for the prevention of them. They use arsenic for treatment of heartworms.

Jo Jo, I think you may have Interceptor figured out all wrong. Interceptor is for internal worms and parasites. It does nothing for the outside of the dog. It works on prevention of heartworms, hook worms, round worms and tapeworms.

| Revolution I use Revolution on my two. It prevents heartworm, fleas, ticks, mange and mites. It is a topical treatment and the boys have never had a side effect from it. Also, it is about $10 a month per dog and it covers everything except intestinal parasites. |

| Welcome You are very welcome. My boys hated the heartworm pills and this eliminates the hassle. Just once a month on the back of the neck and it takes care of everything. Of course, you still need to keep an eye out for any intestinal parasites, but I have not had any problems with those. |
