| What could these little pimples be...hot spots? My baby has several little red spots, that almost look like pimples, but seem to have a crust on them. They dont seem to hurt her at all, as I can touch them without her reacting. There is one on her chest that has been there for awhile and 3 on her back side. She has had some trouble with what I thnk are allergies and does bite at her back side alot. She had been on prednisone several times when it has gotten really bad but mostly we just use Benadryl. Any ideas what this could be? They dont seem to bother her right now, but Im afraid they will spread. Laura |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I'm kinda just bumping this for you. But, I would ask - what are you feeding - is it a food allergy causing her to itch? Have you checked for fleas? The crustiness makes me think of seborrhea too - did the vet think it was from that when they presribed the prednisone?

| hm... well when i first got Oliver when he was a puppy (therefore, smaller than he is now) his belly would rub on the grass and i noticed like three little brown crusty spots that looked like but if not then they are probably little bug bites from bugs in the grass or something. thpimples on his tummy. But he didnt have any on his back. Once he grew up a little bit and his belly no longer rubbed on the grass they went away. So maybe they are just like little bug bites or something? That would be my guess, but it could be a reaction to the medication you are giving her, did you talk to the vet about the spots? Last edited by xliloliverdiorx; 11-13-2007 at 01:30 PM. |

| Thanks for answering. I havent asked my vet yet as I just noticed these. I am pretty sure they are not fleas, but I guess bugs from walking in the grass is a possibility. She was on the prednisone for itching but unrelated to these spots. I guess its possible that its a food allergy, though Ive tried home feeding and various other high quality food, even the no grain foods with no change in the itching which seems to come and go. I guess Ill just watch them and see. They do seem similar to a seborrehea (not sure I spelled that right). Laura |
