I am just wondering what the average time is for a first heat. Sicily is 11 months yesterday, and everything I have read said that it usually around 8 months. Is it possible that I completely missed it? She's just an "around the house" dog, so I am guessing I would have noticed.

I think some can be up to a year before they have there first spay. Correct me if I am wrong.

Mazey was around a year old when she had her first heat.

Hanna came into heat 2 weeks before turning 1

1st. heat cycle can vary from 6 months to a 1-1/2 year. My daughters Yorkie had hers at a year. I have 2 little Schnauzer girls and they are 7 months and not had one yet. David

My Lil one was just 9 months old yesterday

(Happy Birthday Babe) and she has yet to have her first heat, but I think she is getting close as she is cleaning herself more and more down there.....so I am keepin an eagle eye out...have the panties/pads ready to go....

My Ittybit didn't have her first until about 14 months...I was starting to worry about her :-)

9 months for Maddie...Brooklyn was 15 months...and Mikayla was 10 months

Tatum never had a heat and was over 9 months old before she was spayed.
