| Hair Shedding?? Hi, I have a puppy (5 mths) that sheds ALOT I wanted to get some advise on shedding? She is a yorkie I mean I have 2 other yorkies and when they were pups they did not shed like her. What can I do to reduce the shedding or stop it? I mean I dont think she is getting rid of her pup coat. Do u? Also do yorkies have under hair?? It seems like when I give my male a bath (short hair) there is all these short hair everywhere but my female (long hair) doesnt do that. Why is that?? I thought yorkies are known not to shed Pleases any advise would be greatly appreciated

| Yorkies normally don't shed. I have never seen any hair from Buddy except when I comb him, then, maybe a few in the comb. I would have the vet check him over and perhaps change his diet. |

| if u dont mind what do u guys feed ur babies? There are so many really good dog foods on the market. I use Natural Balance Organic and add fresh chicken and veggies to it. Canidae is another but it didn't agree with Buddy. Merricks and Chicken Soup as well as many others are high quality dog food. Hope your baby will be ok. |

| It sounds like her low protein diet is lacking in various nutriments. When Charlie (10 yo. rescue) came to live with me in April, his coat was thin and dry. The vet recommended Nordic Naturals Pet Cod Liver Oil once daily (1/4 tsp), and the results is wonderful. His hair has grown back, and shiny. Also, Charlie also had thyroid deficiency, and takes a 1/2 tablet Soloxine 2xday. The deficiency is tested via a blood draw for thyroid. Good luck and your pup shouldn't be shedding. Many people adopt a Yorkie for that reason, no shedding. Warmly, Deborah
