| Should I have her belly shaved? Lucy is getting her second grooming this weekend. I had her cut really short for her first and the hair is now very easy (so far) to keep the matts out, however, her belly/chest area is horrible. They cut it but still left some length on it so no matter how much I brush/comb it just matts up again. Should I have her belly clipped or shaved? I think last time they were leaving her skirt a little long. What does it look like if they cut it off?

| I get Penny & Pipers shaved, and it's a lot easier to care for.

| I would suggest just having the groin areas, under the arms and down about two inches and the belly just cut short......to about 1/2 inch. Shaving these areas just makes them itch. |

| I don't shave, but cut all the belly under the belly button to a 1/4 inch lenght... It just works better for me, it is cleaner...

| Reagan use to get matts under her front legs all the time. It's stopped now(especially since right now since she's cut short) but anyway I would cut the hair there short. I never shaved it bald or anything but I did cut it pretty short. Maybe if the problem is that it is growing out too quick between groomings, you could try getting a small set of clippers and trimming it youself in between groomings. If its just the belly you don't have to worry about messing it up or anything no one will be able to see it.

| Ha...she looks nothing like that anymore. A few months ago she had surgery on one of her knees and I didn't want to have to bother bathing her and brushing her as much plus I just figured it'd be easier on her during her recovery so we took her to the groomers and came home with a completely different dog. It has veen very nice this summer though. She has to go in for her other leg at the end of this year then I'll probably start to let it grow back out. Anyway here is a pic of her fresh from that first big grooming appt.

| Right groomer? I just cannot seem to find a good groomer! I was taking Toby to PetSmart groomers, but they SHAVED him when he was a puppy and it was very cold her...needless to say, we never went back there. I then found Bark Avenue and started taking him there.....but the last time I took him they chopped his hair off and it just doesnt look right!!! Any suggestions of what to ask when I find another groomer????? Also...you can see in my Avatar, that he started out brown and black...his hia ron top now is silver....is that normal?
