| Maize and Lacie don't like being combed... They are mostly fine with it until I get to their butt area, then they freak out and start biting me and the comb/brush. I try to be gentle and give them breaks to make it less stressful, but they REALLY don't like it. I'm not sure if its something I'm doing or if they are just extremely sensitive back there. I comb them daily, so its not like they aren't used to the routine. Lacie is forming mats back there and I have resorted to cutting them out with scissors. Any pointers? Anyone else have an issue with this??

| OMG yes! Sadie absolutely HATES her daily comb out. Now I hold her little back end up so she is standing on her front legs and comb her bottom and back legs that way. Combing the front legs, beard and chest is more of a trial. I really don't understand why she hates it so much as she doesn't have mats, but what should take one minute, takes 5 minutes because she fights me soooooo!!! I always tell her "it's not my fault that you were born a Yorkie" -

| Meeka hates the comb! Meeka is the same way, she is only 6 months but I have been brushing her every day since she has come home with us. She knows that it will be dont every day no matter what and she gives me the hardest time. Because I do this every day she doesnt have any matts, some times a few little knots. But she whines and bites and moves around. I hate brushing her know, but it only take 5 mins. Oh and after I am done she is so upset at the whole thing that I have to hold and cuddle her for atleast 10 mins to calm her down.... I dont get it!

Therapy Dog Donating Member | Best Investment The one thing that I did spend a little money on was this portable grooming table that just sits on my dryer from Pets Edge. I think with tax and shipping it was around $55. And...the turntable is a non-skid pink material. It has a harness loop to keep their head up and it's light and portable. This really helped me with Izzy's grooming and now she doesn't fuss anymore.

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | Thought it was just us.... Lulu hates and I mean hates the whole grooming experience from the bathing to the combing. I have to wrap her in a towel to be able to get to cut her nails. I usually have to holder he with one hand in the sink while I wash her with the other. When I had Lex he was awesome...absolutely loved the whole grooming experience from beginning to ending. What should be a fifteen minute process from beginning to end seems to take a freaking eternity.
