| Henry's Ear Is it too late at 9 months to think his ear will stand up? I thought I would wait until after his neuturing as he had some baby teeth pulled at the same time...Both his ears seem "Weak" along the top, but one flops fwd...How do you and should I try to tape them? |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | if it's really important to you - you could try it - since you had no replies I didn't want you to feel bad LOL but I really can't answer you cause I have no clue if they'll stand at that age - but there's pics of shaving and some info here -http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=88188 |

| I feel trying to stand them up now is better than trying later. My boy is almost 2 years now. I taped his floppy ear up last week when he came home from being neutered. I think his ear stood up at one time but flopped back down for some reason. when he tilted his head back sometimes his ear would perk up just like the other. I figured my as well try while he was groggy and wouldn't be bugging it. I taped it up for two days, and now its standing up more than before and for longer times!. unfortunately if this doesn't work for you right away it may take you a long time to train them. I know that maybe if i keep taping for a few days, and letting his ear relax with no tape for others, in my case his ear my get stronger and stronger. Good luck anyhow. Kisses! |

| Keep them shaved, and taping them up will make them stronger.

| Bebe's ears were flopping because her coat is so thick. I shaved them this week with the V shape and to my surprise they popped right up I taped them to help strengthen them. Good Luck!

| V shape... Can you explain? My boyz are 9 months and have not been groomed yet, other than my bathing them...I like the longer look, but Charlie is having a problem with his bangs training and hang in his face...So I am not sure who to go to, or should I do it myself? |

| Shaving helps, but it's the tape that makes all the difference. It strenthens their ear muscles and helps the ears stand up.
