| Should I cut her short? Help me decide! It is so very hot. Gracie has 1/2 puppy coat and 1/2 adult coat. Her coat tangles terribly where the two coats connect, at about 1 1/2" of length. I look at her and think I might just clip her short to keep her cooler and get rid of that puppy hair once and for all. I want to keep her top knot. What do you think. Should I cut her short or leave her in the modified puppy cut she got last time:

| Oh my goodness...I'm not just saying this, I truly mean it...Gracie is one of the most beautiful, if not the most beautiful, yorkie I have ever seen. I absolutely adore her face and her beautiful coat and topknot. Every time I see your avatar, I just think how precious that darling is I would say not to change it, but it's really up to you. If the maintenance is that much and she's that hot, I guess you could get her cut. As they say..."it's just hair. It will grow back"...so I'm torn

| You guys are too sweet. Thanks for the compliments. But please, help me decide! Her adult coat is coming in a beautiful silver! She looks like she need a root touch up right now, and in a big way! Ha Ha

| It really boils down to what is going to be easier on you. I think she will be cute either way to be honest. If it was me I don't think I could cut her. Diesel has a long coat and in the summer I just trim his skirt. Like I said she will be just as cute either way!

| She's adorable but if it were me, I'd cut her. It's so hot out. Whatever you decide, she'll be adorable regardless.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I'd keep her as is, she's too cute! I've actually seen on the new that for thinner haired breeds (like Yorkies) their hair protects their skin and actually keeps them cooler, not hotter. Weird huh?

| Melonie, cutting it short is really a matter of personal preference . .either way she will look stunning. I have decided to cut Annika's hair very short and especially the muzzle area . . .so she went to the groomer last saturday. I requested to keep the hair on her head long enough to do a topknot. Now I think she looks more like a long haired chi but I am so very happy with the cut . . I have had guests and did not find time to take pics but I will this weekend (my guests left this AM) . . . Myka has been begging me to cut her hair short so I finally gave in and I have no regrets . . . I guess because no matter what, they all look adorable in our eyes Good luck on whatever you decide . . . I know you can't go wrong either way |

| I did it! I voted. Go ahead, cut it short. I always love Gingers hair when it's really short...then I decide to struggle to let it grow out. LOL, I've been going through the same thing with my own hair for about 30 years

| LOL, so have I! Every time I try to grow it out, my stylist takes matters into his own hands and cuts it short again! He just says "You look better with it short."

| hi, this is just a question...why does it say that I can not vote on this poll I dont know i'm just confused right now..i didnt vote before on this or anything. oh and as for the question, I would probably say cut it. Only because it would keep Gracie nice and cool, it would also help with the tangles you mentioned.
