| rubber bands or barrettes? What does everyone prefer for doing their yorkies top knot? Is a rubberband easier or barrettes? I'm new to yorkies and having trouble with my new baby as far as her top knot goes - plus her hair is still a little short (shes 17wks). Anyways, I'm going to order bows tomorrow and wondered which kind most people preferred? |

| I don't like rubberbands. I find them hard to put on my Bella and they tend to pull on hair. The barrettes are easier for me.

| I like them both but the barrettes are easier to put it. If i am in a rush i usually use the barrettes.

| I do one of two things. I use a grooming band fit loosely then use a barette kind of under and behind to secure the whole thing. Or, I just use a baby terry cloth scrunchie band, wrap it around a couple of times and on the third wrap pull through the top knot. Gracie tolerates the scrunchie the best.

| I use the bands because barettes fall out of their hair easily.

| I use both. Holly's hair is really silky and barrettes have fallen out. I use a rubberband ( not too tight) then place the barrette on top. If we are just here at home or outside running around I just use a band.

| I have a 17 week old also....and her hair is also still a bit short...I have both the band and clip bows...and so far I prefer the clips...I found the bands tend to rip and tear the hair when trying to remove them, but I feel safer leaving the band in overnight as the clips can be removed much easier... Maybe when her hair gets longer the bands will work better, but for now I like the clips....

| Thanks guys! I think I'm going to get the barrette's as then I can always wrap a rubber band around first then put a barrette in as someone suggested. Thanks for helping!! |

| I actually love the rhinestone claws that hold hair. I gather it up and within seconds had it clipped into a top knot. Tinkerbells Closet has a nice selection.
