| Grooming the Yorkshire Terrier That Yorkie looked lovely, but I don't think the hair color is a great idea for regular use. Also I prefer to see the bow to be a little higher on the head. That poor little one looked like the bow was weighing down it's little eyes. Since I don't show, I have no idea what is required in the show world, but the pictures I have seen of the show Yorkies, seem to have more open faces with the bow a little closer to the ears. For our little pets, I don't think the back combing in the top knot is a good idea, It would be so difficult to get all those knots out without doing damage to the hair. I'm old enough that I remember trying to get all that back combing out of my own hair, and I really wouldn't like to put my little fur babies through that on a daily basis. JMO

| yeah i dont show either---and i thought the same thing about the teasing of the hair for the topknot. seems like its alot those little dogs go thru, although im sure going to those extremes are what is exspected in the show ring. they do look pretty though! |

| pI LOVE my Sadie, and take pride in keeping her well groomed, I think she's beautiful & yes, I'm sure I'm biased, but I've often been complimented on how beautiful she is. The Yorkie in the video was gorgeous, and I know you have to put effort into show coats, my Sadie sports one. However, hair color, flat ironing & hairspray? Beautiful as that dog was (even before), it didn't seem necessary to put it through that. Haircolor?! Was I the only one to notice how sad the dogs eyes looked? They seemed 'glassy' & distant. I for one couldnt put Sadie through all of that, her top-not may not be perfectly "bubbled" but she's perfect to me, and very happy too, I might add. :spyorkie Last edited by LittleSadieLady; 06-05-2010 at 04:46 PM.
