sorry to be so explicit but I can not live with his hair dirty i trimmed it a litthe bit but today is messy again. how do you do to keep the anal region clean? My baby is in lactulose for his liver shunt and his stool is really soft!

I recommend shaving all the hair around his butt, and keeping baby wipes available for wipe ups.

I have never done it can you guys tell me how to and tips. How much should I shave and if there is any helpful link.

you can buy a pair of trimmers and shave it all off real close.but with the trimmers I find that I have more control.I lay my little one on his back hold his little legs up and there you go.hope this helps

Yep. Shave it off and use baby wipes. (I have my groomer give Bernie a trim in that area every few weeks)

I use a little Wahl Peanut trimmer and just shave it all off. I do a width just a little wider than the trimmer. Be careful not to go directly on the opening but all around it. I also trim the tail up a bit so the hair is not so long it gets in the way.

I had to laugh because Conner also looks like a baboon!!! My husband calls him Baboon Butt when he come home from the groomer.

Use baby manicure scissors and cut around....but, I still use baby wipes after they go....after all they lay on my furniture.

cute thread and we had the dreaded baboon butts back when I 1st started doing it myself....I do it like FLDebra - just a tiny bit around that area and up the inside of the tail a bit...

Sir Spike had some troubles it got messy and couldn't do # 2 this

happened over one day period > I got all upset and called the vet at midnight

took him in and he shaved his little butt and charged me 75.00

He now has a monkey butt but he's OK and so is his mommy
