| Grooming around the eyes... I'm having trouble keeping the hair out of thier eyes. What do you all do to keep the little hairs under their eyes and between their eyes from poking them? Pictures of groomed eyes would be great!

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | I trim it. It really sucks to see the hairs poking them in the eye and having their eyes runny because of it. So I just gave in and get them trimmed. I have now been able to do it myself on lex while he is in the sink at bath time. I just kind of twist the hair together some and then use my miniclipper and snip it fast. If I try to do it while he is out of the bath then it's a no go. I haven't tried it on lulu as yet because she is a handful when I give her a bath...so eventually I will be doing the same to her. Good luck on deciding what you are going to do. Everyone differs because some want the long top knot and dont' want to cut the hair there...but while waiting on it to be long enough to sit down after parting takes so long.

| My problem isn't on top. I keep it pulled up out of their eyes. My problem is the hairs under and between the eyes. I don't know what to do with it.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I spent over a year growing Cali's out and it always looked so messy and pulled out of the topknot so I just had it cut. It looks a lot neater. I keep Pixie without a topknot so I keep her bangs cut and her hair by her eyes short.

| I took a lot of time growing Loki's out and just parting all the hair on his nose. That worked well. The last time he got a hair cut it got a little too short so 'm growing it out again. Sammys was all gunky so the groomer trimmed right by her eyes, but it grows so fast that it has to get trimmed every couple weeks to keep it out of her eyes, so hers will be grown out too!

| With Jake I let the hair on his nose just grow long, I figure its better to have the side shaft of hair rub against his eye than have it being poked and stabbed by a cut off end. I do, however, give him very fine eyelash type hair on the top of his eyes so that when his hair is down it pushes it outwards. It took about a year (Jakes hair grows really slowly) for there to be enough weight to hold it out of his eyes, and I still find myself brushing hair away from his eyes with my fingers / picking out the gunk on a morning but most of the time it is weighted down enough so it isn't rubbing against his eyeball during the day. As you can see his hair does stand up a bit on his nose (I think its because his sister likes to chew on his mustache and keeps it shortish) but its away from the eye ball. Obviously I'm not a "traditionalist" when it comes to grooming, I don't like the shaved ears (although I completely remove the hair on the inside to reduce weight and keep it clear & clean) but thats what works for us. |
